What is electronic invoicing?
Electronic invoicing is the submission of invoice data to the tax authority in a structured format at the time of issue, rather than reporting totals afterwards.

For a small business the practical effect is that your corporate customers can claim their VAT against your invoice, which makes you easier to buy from.
It is built into invoicing rather than being a separate filing step.
