A receipt is not an invoice
An invoice asks for money. A receipt confirms it arrived. Issuing one is what stops the conversation three weeks later about whether a payment was made, and it takes fifteen seconds.
What to put on it
Who received the money, who paid it, how much, when, what for, and how it was paid. The last one matters more than people expect: 'cash' and 'transfer' lead to very different conversations later.
